Music like the other arts of mankind is all about communicating truth as we see it.It tells us of our hopes and dreams,aspirations and sorrows.An artist in Music paints their truths with notes,words voice and instrumentation.You cannot deny the truths of these musical paintings because they are part of what gives you existence.

It reinforced what I already believed.

Just great to listen to someone who knows what they are talking about and doesn't confuse knowledge with faith or belief.

This makes me feel glad, happy, humbled, glad, happy and humbled.

So eloquently, simply and gently put. Yay!

Dunno why giro got thumbed down or Vicky - obviously the scientific illiterati are present again - Vicky is telling it like it is! No God involved -if maybe that music is affirming - for any belief - but the fact is - music is vibration of air molecules and all those vibrations penetrate a biological being made of DNA - itself a structure with circular form - just like a lot of musical vibration - music is not about religion - it is about science fact.

If you start by believing ignorant rubbish,the only place is UP - and the only way to get there is knowledge - not mantras.

All she says really is that music can help access spirituality. She says nothing about whether we can tell if it is true or not.
I think she thinks it isn't, but I'm not sure. However, just because music can help us access this more easily or more strongly does not give ANY evidence as to it not being true-how would you tell?
Also, the idea about music connecting to the reward centre of the brain is only part of the story, as it is clear that it can help us connect to sad thoughts and memories too. This may be good for us in helping process them, but the memories at least are real; so we know it can connect us to reality. This being the case, what other evidence do you have to suppose that in this case, the spiritual is not true?
