It helped me understand the speaker's point of view.
This makes me feel angry and sad for her. I don't understand the speaker's point of view at all.
This film made me really angry, as if all conceptions are "gifts" to be treasured, that is saying that women and young girls who are raped and as a result get pregnant are being given a gift! That is horrific.
It IS everyone's right to create a life. Me and my partner want children in the future, but 4 years of very intensive chemotherapy rendered him infertile. So are we just supposed to sit around and wait for some kind of immaculate conception? As Atheists and strong believers in science, we know that a god can not just decide whether to give us a baby or not, but at least we have some comfort in what modern science can do for us.
I've just seen Sarah Brown's clip on Thurs 24th. I am a born again Christian and my husband and I were told in 2007 that unless we did IVF we would not be able to have our own children. At first I was set against it but over the following 6 months we prayed and asked questions to trusted friends, Christian and not. My understanding of the process is that whilst an embryo is potential of life, unless it's planted it cannot grow and unless God wants to create life, no matter how much embryo planting we did there would be no life. We have the knowledge to try for life in amazing ways but only God has the power to create life. I learnt that in the first round of IVF which didn't result in life. Thankfully and I believe by the grace of God, the second round produced our beautiful daughter and a third round has given us the baby boy still growing in my womb. Of course I would have loved to get pregnant naturally but just because my babies have come through a process paid for it doesn't make them any less miraculous and precious. I thank God for science and experts who can help others to realise their dreams but as far as life and death, it will always be in the hands of God. I certainly don't think doing IVF is sinful, I believe trusting in God looks different in every believers life and I believe God will show you what is right for you if you humble yourself and trust Him to lead you.
This makes me feel angry.
As someone who is currently having IVF, I find Sarah's comments very narrow minded. It is wonderful for those people who are able to conceive naturally but for some people that isn't a possibility. We are not trying to 'buy a baby' and we certainly know that there is no guarantee of a baby at the end of the process-if only that were true!!
This makes me feel angry.
This woman has made me so angry. Couples go through the horrendous ups and downs of IVF treatment to bring a child into the world that will be loved and cared for. Would god disagree with that?
I needed ivf to get my family through losing my tubes due to an ectopic. Should I not have my much longed for twins????? Should the hosp not have treated me when I had the ectopic and let me die????? Where is the difference????
I myself have no problem with what sarah has done. just like she thanks god for her baby. i thank god for the repeal of section 28 and equality laws in the uk. but i do find is strange amoung christians that when gay barry was on the page was flooded with complaints quoteing the bible. yet no complaints for alison laper or sarah brown yet you all say "we are not homophobic we are following god's word"
Naprotechnology as far as I understand it helps many married couples in this situation. I think sometimes it is not completely natural and therefore disagreed with for that reason.
This makes me feel angry. I don't understand the speaker's point of view at all.
I understand Sarah's belief but it's personal to her. The fundamental question does EVERYONE have the right to procreate - it's law in this country that some people lose the right to own an animal so how could a human baby have less value?
This makes me seriously angry! I have a few very good friends that woulde't exist if not for the avalibility of IVF treatment. Rapists can have children if they wish to, and they do. We hear, in the news, of people with children who have tortured them for years on end. Did god choose to bless them with children then? But othes who are perfectly kind, caring and giving human beings can just be unlucky in life and not able to conceive. Why should they not be able to have children when terrible people can?
People are entitled to have their own point of view but if they are going to have the extream view of IVF being inapropriot then they need to present a less pathetic argument.
http://www.4thought.tv/4thoughts/0237-Sarah-Brown-Does-everyone-have-the-right-to-create-a-baby-# - and that's all it is, HER POINT OF VIEW! So all these people who are getting on their high horses.... reality check.
This makes me feel happy.
Knowing Sarah personally I know the stress, pain and heartache that both her and partner went through in their efforts to become parents.
I know that their decision to conceive naturally wasn't taken lightly, they went through years of agony and it was their love for each other and God and their never ending faith that saw them through the darkest days.
All to often these days having "faith" is a by-word for anger and resentment, but for Sarah and her partner it means love, happiness, caring, self-sacrifice and being beloved by God.
Anybody who has spent any time in Sarah and her partner's company, will know that can not find two more suitable people to become parents and the negative comment will never alter their trust in God that they did the right thing.
I don't understand the speaker's point of view at all.
I don't understand the speaker's point of view at all.
As leader of the Kemetic faith we are shown by our Gods that they gave us the knowledge to help those who need IVF and every one has a right to access to that knowledge. A child can give their parents total happiness something we all have a right to. So many of the main stream faiths seam to live in a different age from the rest of the modern world.
It helped me understand the speaker's point of view.
I think what Sarah was trying to say were the reasons why she and her husband decided not to go down the IVF route. For infertile couples IVF has always posed an ethical dilemma, mainly because many embryos are created. Since they are all life, how to choose some and throw away or freeze some? That is the question that each individual couple needs to debate and reconcile with. At the end of the day the decision is very much personal. Not to me to judge. God is love and sees the intentions and longing of every heart. In return man needs to love His God and seek His will in their lives.
why did god choose to make her go through 4 miscarraiges. . . . . . .kill her babies in her own words?! Is god really that good?
No.
Just as everyone does not have the right to adopt, there reasons for protocols, proceedures, qualifications and vetting....even though it appears that idiots manage the adoption process.
Has anyone noticed that all of these speakers are catholic??? Conspiracy much?????
