Jon Kuhrt, 4000-odd people out of everyone who must have seen the billboards is not a particularly high percentage in an adult population of 50 million. It worries me that this is an example of minority outrage forcing their definition of what is moral upon a majority. Indeed, how many of this 4000 actually saw the adverts personally, and how many were simply outraged at the thought? Do you really believe these adverts would have forced normally faithful persons into committing adultery, or is it just the thought you find distasteful? I am quite sure those seeking extra-marital affairs will be able to deduce other ways of meeting potential partners. Extra-marital affairs with work colleagues are quite common, so do you propose separating the sexes to prevent facilitating what you consider immoral behaviour?
I do not agree with adultery, but it is not a crime in the UK and no crime was being committed by the advertising of the internet service. Since when do we have a right to not be offended in any manner, even by simple thoughts? We live in a democratic society with freedom of speech, expression and thought. When this becomes eroded by the moral panic of a minority of self declared thought and morality "police", we take a dangerous step towards, at the very least, a nanny state and at worst, oppressive constraints upon our freedoms. Let people make their own decisions and their own mistakes. You do not "know better" than anyone else.

Some positive aspects of the internet and social networking as forces of good, in the way they destroy the myth that Christianity is a homogeneous religion of love and kindness. Christianity is exposed as a fractured and highly bigoted religion with prescriptive fascist anti democratic dogmas and a very long history of repression and genocide. If Christianity had its way there would be no internet or social networking as the history of Christianity demonstrates beyond doubt that it has opposed science and modernism for centuries. One of the particularly nasty facets of Christianity is its ability to use the fractured nature of the church to its advantage, this is amply demonstrated throughout 4thought, to deny and condemn yet affirm and support simultaneously, win or lose an argument Christianity can always claim it was in there? Why was there a need to tell us that he is a Christian? Was it simply to demonstrate that he does not have an original opinion on the subject but is required to take a particular party line? At least for the time being!

Its hard to say, I diffinately think social media is changing our culture but to say its changing our morality is a string statement. Firstly we need to identifty what, and where morality comes from? Personal I believe morality is something in built, naturally present. And on this basis I believe levels of morality stay roughly the same but does change in contents. So I guess the answer is yes and no...

Good solid functional family units are so very important to how our society functions. The better they work the healthier we are are as emotionally intelligent and functional individuals. Regardless to any religious belief, that a company wishes to actively profit from aiding and abetting the deconstruction of this, has to be morally corrupt.

Throughout history morals have been taught as life skills within the family through each generation. In today's society children are lucky if they see either parent for any longer than a couple of hours a day. And even then it is likely that they would still have their phone etc in hand. We are adults and parents and it is extremely important that WE teach our children right from wrong. And to begin by setting a good example.In the meantime it is hardly surprising that they will be seeking attention from else where. So put YOUR phone ect down and give them some. Maybe give your wives and husbands some too.

Before lecturing the rest of the world on family and morality I think Christians should put their own house in order first. Rather than concentrating on what consenting adults are up to why not expend a little more of their evangelical energy and effort in protecting children from the more fundamental evil that infects Christian morality.
Children who refuse to obey their parents must be executed?.
If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them: Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place; And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard. And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear. -- Deuteronomy 21:18-21

Sometimes God kills children for misbehaving.
