Should embryonic stem cell research be allowed?

Using human embryos for medical research has the potential to cure conditions like Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s, but is it justifiable?


When does life start - at fertilisation, ensoulment or birth?  Should scientists search for cures for degenerative diseases by any means possible? Or is harvesting tissue from embryos to experiment on playing God?
