Totally agree, church and state should be separate and independent of one another.

you are very sadly mistaken as I learned in history King Henry the 8th started the church of england and he like Queen Elizabeth the second were political figures now why would you change that?

sam 13 Apr 2011 20:03

No, it was invented by a king so let it be headed by a queen. Its all only superstition after all.

I don't understand the speaker's point of view at all.

The Church of England was created by King Henry VIII so that could he could do what he wanted without the Pope being able to stop him. If he doesn't like it being linked to the monarchy, has he considered finding another branch of Christianity that he might prefer?

For the Monarch to be the "Supreme Governor" of the C of E labels the C oE E apostate. The headship of any Christan Church is Jesus Christ and isrepresented in diverse ways by Christ's "vicars".

It reinforced what I already believed.

Quite so.

The Church of England would be well rid of the fundamentally corrupting influence of the monarchy.

Please dont forget the history behind the Queen becoming the head of the church of England and the people that gave there life to make shore the queen is the defender of the fath, i was taken back when prince of wales was saying he wanted to be head of all religion in England, maybe he and symon need to find someother church that will take all your money and run your life, and symon how do you feel about the pope, o what would Jesus make of him and there set up.
