Wow there you go then, just about sums up everything that is wrong with the insidious nature of religion. I hold certain views therefore I pity those who dont hold those same views, regardless of the circumstances, regardless of my beliefs. Therefore, we can only draw one conclusion, if the Pope performed a miracle for you then why doesn't he do it for everyone. But there hasnt been a single recorded incident of any blessed amputee growing their limb back, so what has the Pope got against amputees. I thought it was really insensitive to show this without a prior warning as the offense it may cause. This is one person's personal story and view that is then related to a wider topic in a narrow minded, self centred way. [Comment originally left on Channel4.com on 14/09/10 at 20:45]

In response to Paula's comment, I'd like to say that this woman's personal story is that - a personal story. She is fully entitled to her beliefs without people thinking that she is "narrow minded" or "self centered". Her experience proves that the doctors can very well get it wrong and whether or not you believe she was cured by the Pope, by staying true to her faith and remaining strong she has managed to avoid making a huge mistake and has received one of the greatest gifts of life, her daughter.

How courageous and wonderful.

I'm protestant, but I agree with the catholic veiws on abortion, and I'm so glad that this woman's faith, while it may not be my own, saved her daughters life.
I don't think the pope did a maricle, perhaps God healed her, but even if he didn't or whatever caused your daughter to be born healthy didn't happen, it is worth holding on. Give the child a chance, disabled or not. But I'm really happy her daughter was born ok.

I think this beautiful, it doesn't even matter is it was a miracle, it was beautiful that she went and she heard and her daughter was born without any problems sums up everything that is wonderful with religion. Having faith, hope belief that there is someone, something watching caring helping. Its comforting doesn't matter if its true or not.
